Frequently Asked Questions

About Our Tea

What makes Fuzhou jasmine tea different from other jasmine teas?

Fuzhou is the birthplace of jasmine tea and home to a scenting tradition recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of China. Our teas are scented multiple times with fresh jasmine blossoms — never with artificial flavoring — using a process refined over centuries. The result is a naturally fragrant, layered aroma that mass-produced jasmine teas simply cannot replicate.

Are your teas organic or free from additives?

Yes. Our teas contain 100% pure tea leaves and fresh jasmine blossoms — nothing else. No artificial flavors, no additives, no preservatives.

What is the difference between Silver Needle, Dragon Pearls, and Green Tea?

Silver Needle (Bai Hao Yin Zhen) uses only the finest young buds, producing a delicate, silky cup. Dragon Pearls are hand-rolled into small balls that slowly unfurl when brewed, releasing a rich floral fragrance. Fuzhou Jasmine Green Tea uses traditional green tea leaves for a more robust, everyday brew. Each offers a distinct experience of the same jasmine scenting craft.

Brewing Guide

How do I brew loose leaf jasmine tea?

Use 2–3g of tea per 200ml of water. Heat water to 80–85°C (176–185°F) — avoid boiling water, which can damage the delicate leaves. Steep for 2–3 minutes for the first infusion. Quality loose leaf jasmine tea can be re-steeped 3–5 times, with each infusion revealing new layers of flavor.

Can I brew jasmine tea cold?

Yes! Cold brew jasmine tea is refreshing and naturally sweet. Add 5–6g of tea to 500ml of cold water and refrigerate for 6–8 hours. No heat required — the slow extraction brings out a smooth, floral flavor without bitterness.

How many times can I re-steep the tea?

Most of our teas can be steeped 3–5 times. Higher-grade teas like Silver Needle and Master's Tea can often be steeped even more, with the fragrance evolving beautifully with each infusion.

Storage

How should I store my jasmine tea?

Store in an airtight container away from light, heat, moisture, and strong odors. A cool, dark cupboard is ideal. Avoid storing near spices or coffee. Properly stored, our teas remain fresh for 12–18 months.

Should I refrigerate my tea?

Refrigeration is not necessary and can introduce moisture. Room temperature storage in an airtight tin or pouch is sufficient for most teas.
